In North Dakota there are programs that maybe able to help your family obtain and pay for such equipment . NDAD
The North Dakota Association for the Disabled is a nonprofit, charitable organization founded by concerned citizens for the purpose of assisting people with mental and physical disabilities in the state of North Dakota, many of whom are not eligible for services from other agencies. http://www.ndad.org/

IPAT-ND Interagency Program for Assistive Technology
The Interagency Program for Assistive Technology (IPAT) is a non-profit organization that strives to bring assistive technology into the lives of all North Dakotan’s that need it. No matter your age, needs, or disability, we are here for you.
Our goal is to help you bridge the gap between ability and disability using assistive technology (AT). We do this through training, public awareness, demonstration, and one-on-one consultation.
