Originally from North Carolina, Amanda moved to North Dakota in 2000. She enjoys the peacefulness here but struggles with the frigid temps. She is also a mother of four children, some are adopted and some are biological. All her children have significant special health care needs, keeping her quite busy! Amanda became interested in helping families as she walked the journey with her family. She is also a Family Nurse Practitioner working at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center. She volunteers her time for AXYS, Family Voices, her workplace and her church. In the past she served two terms on a governor appointed position on the North Dakota Interagency Coordinating Council. In addition to advocating for children with special health care needs, she loves to spend time crafting and having tea with friends.
